Understanding Choghadiya

Choghadiya (चौघड़िया) is a Vedic system used to pick auspicious windows for daily activities — travel, meetings, purchases, ceremonies. The day from sunrise to sunset is split into 8 equal parts and the night from sunset to next sunrise into 8 more. Each window is ruled by a planet and carries a fixed nature.

• अमृत (चंद्र) — most auspicious; ideal for any new beginning.
• शुभ (गुरू) — favorable for ceremonies and learning.
• लाभ (बुध) — gains, business, financial activities.
• चर (शुक्र) — neutral; good for travel and short tasks.
• उद्वेग (सूर्य) — restlessness; avoid important work.
• काल (शनी) — avoid new ventures.
• रोग (मंगळ) — illness/conflict; avoid health & legal matters.
