Ashadha Purnima is the day Ved Vyasa was born — the guru who compiled the Vedas, wrote the Mahabharata, and authored the Bhagavata. It is also the day Adi Shankara accepted his first sannyasin disciples and the day Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath.
A day to honour the guru — the dispeller of darkness. The guru is not just a teacher of texts; the guru is the one who shows you yourself.
