Raksha Bandhan

Bond between brothers and sisters; rakhi tied for protection.

Shravana

Shravan Purnima

When Lord Indra faced defeat by demons, his wife Sachi tied a sacred thread on his wrist — and he returned victorious. Centuries later, Queen Karnavati of Mewar sent a rakhi to Emperor Humayun for protection. The thread has always been a covenant: protection in exchange for love.

Beyond brother-sister, raksha bandhan honours any bond that promises protection — guru-shishya, neighbour-neighbour, friend-friend.
