Step-by-step Vidhi

Vastu Shanti
Worship Vastu Purusha at the centre of the house with kalash and homa.

Ganesh & Navagraha
Invoke Ganesha and the nine planets to remove obstacles.

Pravesh
Enter the house right foot first, carrying the kalash, accompanied by a cow if possible.

Milk Boiling (Paal Kachu)
Boil milk in the new kitchen and let it overflow towards the east — a sign of abundance.

Aarti & Bhoj
Perform aarti, distribute prasad, and feed Brahmins or family members.

- Kalash filled with water, coins, mango leaves and coconut
- Navagraha samagri and Vastu Purusha image
- Cow (if available) for entering first, milk to boil over
- Turmeric paste, kumkum, akshat, flowers, ghee lamps
- Havan kund, samidha and ghee for the homa

South India
Paal Kachu (boiling milk till it overflows) is the principal rite; performed in Uttarayana.
Gujarat / Maharashtra
Kalash with swastika, lighting of akhand jyot for 24 hours after pravesh.
North India
Cow and calf enter first; threshold worshipped with kumkum and rice.
